During the Launch Party for our Start Small Dream Big initiative, the children were briefed on the upcoming activities. We partnered with the Public Hygiene Council for this event as part of our "Keep Singapore Clean" effort. To introduce good habits of cleanliness and social responsibility, the children were shared a story titled "Ash and the Supermons", written by the Public Hygiene Council. Public Hygiene Council also kindly loaned us carnival games for the event, which our N2 and K1 children thoroughly enjoyed.

Over the next couple of weeks, the participating classes took turns conducting litter-picking activities around our neighborhood during Outdoor Engagement sessions. The children first explored the Bukit Batok neighborhood during a nature walk to identify areas in the community that needed attention. We borrowed litter-picking equipment from the CleanPod provided by Jurong Town Council, allowing the children to exercise their gross and fine motor skills as they maneuvered the tongs and grabbers. The children also applied their knowledge from the ECO-Kids curriculum to identify and sort the collected litter based on its material composition. Following the activity, the K1 classes engaged in post-activity reflection by creating KWL charts and mind maps. Meanwhile the N2 classes designed title boards to set up their SSDB corner in the Level 2A common area.

At the same period, we strengthened our advocacy by extending the initiative to families at Small Wonder Bukit Batok. The children were given a card featuring five "Power Up Tasks." These tasks incorporated the Supermons' teachings—with Trayremon reminding children to return their food trays, Trashemon encouraging proper litter disposal, and Toilemon reinforcing the importance of keeping public toilets clean and dry. We also integrated community actions from our ECO-Kids curriculum, encouraging families to use Bloobin and Recycle Right machines alongside binning litter responsibly to Keep Singapore Clean. Parents actively participated completing the tasks within the expected timeframe as children reinforced their good hygiene habits by practicing them alongside their families.

As our Start Small Dream Big corner came together, the K1 classes decorated the area by creating the Supermons out of recycled cardboard, magazine cutouts and bottle caps. Their KWL charts, mind maps, and Power Up Task documentations were also displayed, giving the children an opportunity to relive their learning experiences and confidently share them with their peers.

To wrap up the initiative, the children gathered for a closure party where each level reflected on their journey throughout the month. With our Start Small Dream Big corner reinforcing the good habits and practices learned over the past weeks, Small Wonder Preschool Bukit Batok remains committed to actively practicing and upholding the "Keep Singapore Clean" spirit!
