GROWING VALUES AT HOME (Parent-Child Activity)
As a home extension, children work with their parents or family members to choose a traditional item or artifact from their own or another culture. Family members share its meaning, purpose and cultural significance with the children, encouraging them to learn more about and appreciate different traditions.
Through this activity, children develop respect for other cultures, care for their own cultural heritage, and responsibility in appreciating and taking care of traditional items. Children then share their experiences and what they have learned with their classmates.
