START SMALL, DREAM BIG 2026 GENIUS HIVE PRE-SCHOOL CORA ENVIRONMENT – GIVING EVERY BEVERAGE CARTON A NEW LIFE! ♻️🌱
Small actions. Meaningful impact.
As part of our commitment to nurturing environmental awareness and sustainable habits from young, Genius Hive Pre-school has been collaborating with CORA Environment on the “Giving Every Beverage Carton a New Life!” project since September 2025.
From July to September 2026, we took our efforts a step further by empowering our children to become advocates for recycling within our school and community.
Our journey began with the children learning why beverage cartons should be recycled and how they can be given a new life. Educational slides were shared with families, while children across all levels participated in collecting and recycling used beverage cartons in school. We were especially heartened when several parents supported the initiative by having their children bring cartons from home. The children proudly knew exactly where to deposit them.
For our N2 to K2 children, the experience extended beyond the school. They designed their own posters to encourage the community to recycle beverage cartons. Teachers first reached out to food and beverage establishments and organisations around our CBD school, before the children took the next step --- visiting our community partners to share their message and encourage them to join us.
With the support of our community partners, our collection efforts grew. The children took turns collecting, washing and drying the cartons, experiencing first-hand what it means to take responsibility for our environment. Through this journey, our children learned that making a difference does not always require big actions. It begins with what we can do, where we are, and with others around us.
We are grateful to our parents and community partners who supported our children in turning their ideas into action.

This is our small start --- but we hope the "GIVING EVERY BEVERAGE CARTON A NEW LIFE!" project provides meaningful experiences to our children and it inspires them to dream of a cleaner, greener and more sustainable world. 🌏💚
Our journey will continue as we sustain the recycling effort in school with CORA Environment and explore opportunities to work with more community partners beyond this initial three-month outreach.
