From Scraps to Creatures: A Sustainable Art Adventure

As part of the Think! Contemporary Programme, the children visited the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) to explore contemporary artworks by Singapore artists. Inspired by David Chan’s Animal Roulette, which transforms toy animals into imaginative hybrid creatures through cutting and reassembling, the children were encouraged to think creatively about new possibilities and forms. Extending their learning and connecting it to our focus on sustainability, the children repurposed fabric scraps to create their own unique animal hybrids. Through this hands-on activity, they explored artistic expression while learning how discarded materials can be creatively reused, fostering both environmental awareness and innovation.
