Food Waste to Gold

Children made fertilizer from banana peels. They were cut into smaller pieces to speed up the process before soaking the banana peels in water.

Children learnt that fertilizers are vitamins for plants and grew two types of plants, Maple Pea and Chinese Mustard. They deduced that the batch of plants with fertilizers grows better and faster.

On top of that, children were exposed to using different types of fruit peels to create fertilizers. With this activity, we hope to inspire children to transform food waste into valuable resources.
