Continuing building strong family values

Over the past few months, the children have been on a meaningful journey to build strong and resilient family bonds. Guided by Becky Bunny, they explored important family values—Love, Care and Concern, Commitment, and Respect—learning how to express these values through their actions and relationships with family members.

Throughout the month—and as part of an ongoing initiative—the children also took part in our monthly intergenerational partnership with St Luke’s Eldercare.

These regular sessions provided opportunities for children and seniors to engage in purposeful interactions, nurturing empathy, respect, and mutual care across generations.

On top of that, each month focused on a specific value and included celebrations and experiences that helped children connect these values with real-life situations:

In May, the children celebrated Mother’s Day by exploring the 5 love languages. They learned different ways to show love and appreciation to their mothers and caregivers through words, actions, quality time, gifts, and affection—building a strong foundation of emotional expression within their families.

In June, the value of Care and Concern came to life through a series of meaningful experiences and Father’s Day celebration.

The children enjoyed a memorable family field trip to River Wonders, where families bonded, explored nature, and practiced empathy and teamwork together.

They also came together for a joyful Family Day celebration, strengthening their connections through shared activities and laughter.

Children continue to spread kindness and joy throughout our community!

Through the Singapore Kindness Movement, they are learning the value of being kind and considerate towards others.

With enthusiasm and creativity, they were singing songs, dancing, and writing heartfelt letters to SINGA, all while inspiring others to do the same.

By sharing kindness and compassion, our young friends are helping to build a more caring and gracious society, one kind act at a time.

In July, during Racial Harmony Month, the focus was on Commitment.

Children reflected on their commitment not just to their families, but also to the wider community.

They celebrated the beauty of diversity and learned the importance of respecting differences while building inclusive, supportive relationships.

In August, in celebration of National Day, the children explored the value of Respect and Appreciation.

They expressed gratitude for their families, heritage, and homeland, learning to honour the contributions of others and take pride in their shared identity as part of the nation.

Throughout these rich, value-driven experiences—the children have developed a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of a loving, respectful, and supportive family and community.

They continue to embody these values in their daily lives and are proud to carry them forward, both at home and beyond.
