This year, our center is thrilled to embark on a meaningful Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) journey, proudly partnering with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) for the Go Green SG initiative, alongside the National Environment Agency (NEA).

Centered around the theme "Caring for Nature and the Environment," our project focuses on instilling social responsibility and values in our young learners through hands-on community projects. Our sustainability journey kicks off with a vibrant recycling drive, where parents and children collaborate to collect materials, transforming them into creative classroom crafts and educational posters advocating for Dengue prevention and marine conservation.

During our June holidays, we had our SSDB related "Save the Sea" structured activities, where children were involved in various activities that were integrated with our core curriculum (Language and Literacy, Numeracy, Aesthetics and Creative Expressions, Discovery of the World and Motor Skills Development and Chinese Language). They were engaged in role-play, dramatic play, show and tell, crafts and games.

Deepening our love for ocean life, our students (PG-K2) enjoyed an engaging classroom talk by a volunteer from Our Singapore Reefs organisation. The children learned about the importance of corals and how volunteer divers work together to conduct underwater cleanup that removes discarded items that are thrown into the sea. The children had hands-on experience by touching the coral skeleton which create awareness to reduce marine pollution and habitat damages.

We also conducted a field trip to the Science Centre’s ‘One Ocean’ exhibition, where children experienced the world's first exhibition in Singapore, which consisted of marine science, multi-sensory experience. Parents are involved in this journey as well to support the learning. The children also got to experience the interactive omni-theatre movie (Ocean Paradise).

To the closure of SSDB 2026, Caring for the Nature and Environment - Save the Sea, we have planned a visit to the SEA Oceanarium that offers live habitats, storytelling and immersive technology to deliver meaningful marine education. The N1 and N2 children will be participating in the "Colours of the Ocean" workshop, where the children will learn how marine animals use their diverse colours and clever patterns to survive within the world, the K1 and K2 children will be attending "A Plastic Tale" workshop, where they discover how pollution harms marine life and will be practicing the 3Rs on how to help protect our oceans. By partnering with the Singapore Oceanarium, we will receive The Junior Singapore Oceanarium A–Z Interactive Chart, featuring 26 amazing marine animals found within Singapore Oceanarium to reinforce classroom learning. Children will be bringing home their mini DIY Ocean-themed hand soap that they have created in school to share their experience with their parents too. (This learning journey will be conducted on 16th November 2026, Tuesday)
