Caring for the elderly

The topic and title for our project is “caring for the elderly”. There are three components to our project, namely “Pre-trip education programme”, “Trip to Lee Ah Mooi Old Aged Home” and “Post trip programme”.

For Pre-trip programme:

The children watched a short clip on caring for the elderly. Then, both K1 and K2 students had a class discussion on the topic. The K2 children wrote their thoughts down while the K1 teacher help the children to record their discussion. They also prepared a performance for the elderly at the Old Aged Home.

During the trip to Lee Ah Mooi Old Aged Home:

The children put up a performance and gave the soft toys as gifts to the elderly.

Post-trip programme:

The children draw about their experiences to the Old Aged Home.

They also did a class poster on the visit.
