Our ‘Start Small Dream Big (in short ‘SSDB’) project is to create an awareness in children the nature of the job of cleaner and a construction worker. It is also to help to change children’s perception of a cleaner’s job as being dirty and demeaning.

The recycled materials contributed by children to use as materials to fold a ‘Star’ origami. Then a disposable chopstick is attached to the “Star” to create a “Wand”. This star-ed wand conveys the message of “light -in-the darkness”. Each unsung hero is likened to the “Star” which lights up the recipient’s lives by him/her giving of his/her time and love. The Milo beverage as a gift is the children’s way of appreciating and supporting the heroes as this beverage replenishes energy level. With a charged spirt, the heroes can go further and contribute more.
