Healthy Fruit Salad
Our theme for SSDB project is caring for everyone. K2 children brainstormed for ideas to show care and love for people around them. To start from school, K2 children applied their new learning from the term two inquiry project, Healthy Me and make a healthy fruit salad for all the teachers and centre attendants.
The children worked in small groups to peel and cut the fruits into bite size. Then they mixed the fruit with yoghurt and honey. They also handmade paper flower bouquets to every class to deliver their love message “I love you!”
In this activity, K2 children developed empathy and appreciation as they thanked their school teachers and centre attendants for their daily care. For the saying goes, no one can do everything but everyone can do something. K2 children cared for the people in school through their healthy fruit salad and flower crafts.
