"Go Green, Little Hands" demonstrates that meaningful change can begin with the smallest of hands. Through this project, the children of Agape Little Uni Cecil explored sustainability through meaningful, hands-on experiences that connected them with nature, encouraged responsible choices, and deepened their understanding of how they can care for the environment.

Across four chapters of exploration, the children developed greater environmental awareness through hands-on experiences such as nurturing plants, learning about nature and Singapore’s wildlife, and keeping their surroundings clean. A meaningful learning experience with NParks deepened their appreciation for nature and Singapore’s rich biodiversity, inspiring them to become young stewards of the environment. The children also took part in a beach clean-up at East Coast Park, working together to collect unwanted rubbish and learning how small actions can make a positive difference to our environment.

The children also learnt and practised the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse and Recycle through practical experiences. They planted and cared for plants, recycled materials, reduced waste, and transformed old socks into creative puppets through upcycling. These experiences helped children understand that materials can be given a new purpose and that small changes in their daily habits can make a positive difference.

Through these experiences, children developed a stronger sense of responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and stewardship. They began to recognise that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility and that their choices and actions can have an impact on people, wildlife, nature, and the planet.

The impact of the project extended beyond the preschool as children brought their learning and sustainable habits home. With their families, they explored ways to reduce waste, reuse materials, recycle, and make more environmentally responsible choices. This strengthened the partnership between the preschool and families in promoting sustainability.

Ultimately, "Go Green, Little Hands" empowered children to understand that they may be small, but their hands, ideas, and actions can create a big difference. Through continued opportunities to explore, practise, and make responsible choices, the children took meaningful steps towards becoming greener, kinder, and more connected to nature.
