Prior to the Racial Fiesta, Fridays were used to showcase each culture as a pre-activity to the actual event. The aim was to allow children to explore creating objects related to the different races. It would also allow children to understand the purpose of having these items back in the olden days. The team of teachers and parents were tasked to come up with the crafts also created different levels of difficulty for K1 and K2 children. Parent volunteers joined the event to help out the teachers and children in the craft making.
Children were introduced to the Malay culture where they were taught about the history of *ketupat* and subsequently the children weaved the *ketupat* using paper.

The children were introduced to the Chinese culture where they learnt about the history of Chinese handheld *fan* and also had the opportunity to create their own decorated fans.

The children were introduced to the Indian culture where they learnt the history of *thoranam*. The K1s made thoranams out of paper and the K2s made thoranams using real banana leaves.
