2026 Cherie Hearts @ Charlton x SSDB – Start Small Dream Big Charity Fun Fair

On 25 April 2026, Cherie Hearts @ Charlton proudly hosted the SSDB (Start Small Dream Big) Charity Fun Fair, celebrating our annual Young Entrepreneurs' Day. What began as a vision to empower children through service learning became an inspiring community event that brought together children, families, educators, community partners, volunteers, and sponsors for a meaningful cause.

We are delighted to share that our fundraising goal of $10,000 was successfully achieved. Every dollar raised will directly benefit three meaningful organisations:

1. Singapore Red Cross (40%) 2. Singapore Disability Sports Council (40%) 3. Paya Lebar Community Club Citizens' Consultative Committee (20%)

This remarkable achievement was made possible through the generosity of our families, the dedication of our staff and interns, the support of our community partners, and the enthusiasm of everyone who attended the event.

Beyond fundraising, the Charity Fun Fair served as an authentic service-learning experience for our children. In preparation for the event, every child contributed 20 community service hours, participating in planning, creating products, preparing performances, producing artwork, and learning how they could make a positive difference in the lives of others. These experiences helped children understand that even at a young age, they have the power to contribute meaningfully to their community.

Throughout the project, children developed important lifelong values, including:

Compassion by helping those in need. Empathy through understanding the importance of supporting different communities. Responsibility by contributing to a shared goal. Teamwork as they collaborated with classmates, teachers, and families. Perseverance while preparing products, performances, and activities for the event. Generosity by learning that giving their time, talents, and effort can positively impact others. Entrepreneurship by creating, promoting, and selling products while learning about purposeful fundraising.

The event also strengthened the partnership between home, school, and the wider community. Parents volunteered their time, sponsored activities, ran booths, donated generously, and participated alongside their children, creating a powerful example of community spirit and civic responsibility.

The success of the 2026 Cherie Hearts @ Charlton x SSDB – Start Small Dream Big Charity Fun Fair is not measured solely by the $10,000 raised, but by the lasting impact it has had on our children's hearts and minds. Through this meaningful journey, they discovered that kindness, collaboration, and service can create real change in the lives of others.
