To wrap up our journey in learning about the harmful effects of single use plastic, we held a charity event in a form of a carnival, where parents could come in and learn more on how we can upcycle single use plastic in a sustainable way! All proceeds that were gained through this charity event goes straight to our Agape’s President Challenge fundraiser!

The carnival consisted of 4 stations: The Recycling Process game station, Little Builders Workshop, Agape Exhibit and Cafe Munch and Crunch!

The Recycling process game station was a stimulation of how plastic is being broken down and upcycled into a sustainable item! Parents and children had a first hand experience on how the process worked!

Children identifying the different ways plastic could be upcycled into various sustainable products such as furnitures, bags, clothes etc.

The main focus of our Little Builder’s workshop was teaching parents and children on how we can recycled plastic bottles into fun animal-themed piggy banks! Not only does this allow parents and children to be open towards upcycling, this could also allow children to gain some financial independence, where it motivates them towards saving money!

Our Agape Exhibit displayed the learning process of our children from Toddlers till Kindergarten 2 in Term 3! Children had prepared artifacts to sell, to aid raising funds for our Preisdent’s Challenge as well! Their artifacts reflected on what they had learned as part of their Term 3 Inquiry process!

The carnival was a fun and educational experience for both parent and children! All in all, the children had a wonderful bonding experience with their parents, learning about the importance of using recyclable plastic!

The event was a success thanks to all the support from our parents and children but also, most importantly due to our Agape teachers dedication in educating our children!
