“Appreciating Our Grandparents” – SSDB: Kind Hearts, Strong Bonds

As part of the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project, the Nursery 1 children engaged in a series of meaningful activities to show appreciation for their grandparents. The children began by participating in a class discussion where they shared their favourite moments with their grandparents. Their responses were documented on a class chart, capturing their heartwarming and personal reflections.

To express their love and gratitude, the children created handmade cards using watercolour paints, carefully putting effort into each design.

In addition, the children participated in a role-play activity where they pretended to help their grandparents around the house—cleaning furniture, wiping tables, and preparing pretend meals in the dramatic play area. These activities allowed them to demonstrate care, empathy, and responsibility while also enhancing their imaginative and social skills.

It was a thoughtful and joyful experience that deepened their understanding of family bonds and the important role grandparents play in their lives.
